Inspection and documentation made easy with RFID System!

NEW!

Inspection and documentation made easy!

Required, regularly inspections of lifting means are time consuming and can often be fault-prone. Due to the RFID-technology (Radio-Frequency-Identification) these time consuming methods and massive amount of paper work become a thing of the past.

With RFID technology, chain slings and the components can now be effortlessly and quickly identified without errors, and the Product Identification Number can be easily registered and managed like never before. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) continues to evolve as a major technology –modenrizing the way documentation and inventory management is done.

RUD-ID-POINT®

The components can be marked by the RUD-ID-Point® (RFID chip) and with the product identification number.

RUD-ID-EASY-CHECK®

The robust RUD-ID-EASY-CHECK® readers capture the Identification Number of the RUD-ID-Point® and transfers it to the RUD-ID-NET® software, or to your PC application such as: WordPad, MS Word, MS Excel, SAP etc.

RUD-ID-NET®

The extendable RUD-ID-NET® software will support your product management and docu-mentation.

RUD-ID-POINT®

The exclusive and unbeatable RUD-ID-Point® can withstand difficult applications and extreme temperatures, applicable between -60° C (-76°F) and +300°C (572°). It also has a extreme high resistance against vibrations, water and pollution. There is no impairment of serviceability and capability of components due to the embedded RFID-Chip.

RUD-ID-Point® 8 mm (13,86 MHz HF):

Press-fitted transponder (in metal). No adhesive required. Size: 8 mm x 3,25 mm (5/16” X 1/8”)The usage of RUD-ID-Points® (RFID-Chips) embedded into a hole of a lifting and con-veying safety component is protected by a patent.

RUD-ID-TAG® (13,86 MHz HF):

Metal reinforced tag for chains, connecting links, wire ropes, alternatively also for bolting.

Size: 50 mm x 32 mm x 6 mm (2” X 1¼” X 15/64”)

RUD-ID-EASY-CHECK®

The RUD-ID-EASY-CHECK® readers are compatible with the RUD-ID-Points® as well as with common high frequency transponders/chips (ISO 15693). The transfer of the identifi-cation number is carried out either by USB or Bluetooth and can be linked up with the RUD-ID-NET® software, almost all Office applications (WordPad, MS Word, MS Excel, Open Office) and also with SAP or other programs.

RUD-ID-EASY-CHECK® (13,56 MHz):

The USB-reader is for reading out of the RUD-ID-Point® identification number.

RUD-ID-DISPLAY-CHECK® (13,56 MHz):

USB or Bluetooth Reader reads out the unique RUD-ID-Point® identification number and shows it on the integrated LCD display.

RUD-ID-NET®

The RUD-ID-NET® software makes many things easier. This application supports you amongst others, like test inspection.

 Uncomplicated digital maintenance, analysis, administration of product data, test reports, as well as documents (allows for more efficient testing, maintaining and generating of test reports according to the law’s testing requirements) automatic test reminder in addition to the by law required test, automatic test reports).

 Digital connection to current product information and documents (f.e. test reports) with access to the RUD web portal.

 Extendable software for different work equipment which has to be inspected regu-larly (e.g. work platforms, roller shutter).

“How Are You Going to Lift That?”

How do you determine what type of rigging equipment you need?

Many times throughout the manufacturing process it is necessary to move a piece of equipment, machinery or material to the next manufacturing process or shipping. The first question that should come up is how are we going to make our pick? We must make sure that we are using the safest means possible.

No matter if you are using nylon, wire rope or chain to make your pick, the thought process will start or end with the lifting point. It is very important to make sure there are holes to bolt the lifting point into or there is a place to attach the welded lifting points.

Once we decide on whether to bolt or weld our lifting point, we will need to decide the weight of our piece. This is very important due to the fact that this will determine the size and the number of points you will need to use. If you are unsure of your weight you may need to consult with your engineering department to calculate the weight. It is always best to caution on the heavy side and use a bigger lifting point than might be necessary. Other important factors to consider are:

1. Are the lifting points on the same plane or will my load be unsymmetrical? If so do I need to think about a shortening device on my sling?

2. What direction will my load be pulled in? Is the lifting point I wish to use able to be pulled in the direction that we are going to lift from?

3. Are there any obstructions on my work piece that I may need to compensate for?

After answering these questions you should be confident that the lifting points will be suitable for your lift. If you are unsure always ask a lifting professional before making your lift.

The real cost of tire failure:The deeper you dig, the more cost savings you realize.

Over the last 60 years, Tire Protection Chains have become well accepted and highly utilized assets throughout the mining and quarrying industries. In fact, worldwide demand for Tire Protection Chains has more than quadrupled in the last five years.

RUD Tire Protection Chain
RUD is the world’s premier manufacturer of German-quality Tire Protection Chains, and as part of their dedication to innovative design, RUD has performed field trials all over the world. While the financial benefits of Tire Protection Chains vary from site to site, all of RUD’s trial statistics show remarkable financial benefit its.

Reduced costs and increased production are the most obvious benefits provided by Tire Protection Chains. RUD’s chains have been proven to extend the average tire life in most mines from 1,500 hours to 6,000 hours, effectively reducing tire costs by 25%*. Fewer tire changes mean less maintenance costs and downtime and increased machine productivity. They also mean increased safety - changing loader tires can be an extremely hazardous operation, and Tire Protection Chains dramatically reduce the number of change-outs required.

The increased traction delivered by RUD Tire Protection Chains delivers further cost benefits by reducing digging cycle times and increasing fuel efficiency, in some cases b y up to 10%. And in vehicles that can burn through over $6,000 of fuel a day this in itself is a significant cost saving.

The substantial reduction of sudden tire failure is where chains deliver their highest cost reductions. Some of the world’s largest iron ore mines use RUD Tire Protection Chains to enable 24 hour production. One sudden tire failure can result in a wheel loader being down for up to 12 hours. These giant machines can generate income in excess of $50,000 per hour, and preventing un-planned downtime means the wheel loaders can realize their full earning capacity.

With the ongoing growth of new operations and expanded production in the mining sector, Tire Protection Chains will continue to become more commonplace as a standard tool for maximizing profit and safety commitments. And with h over 140 years experience in developing future-oriented solutions with chain systems and components, RUD will continue t o create customer oriented technical innovations to meet the needs and demands of this industry.
